A most troubling aspect of our current society is, when asked, what Gen Z most wants from life the number one answer is “to be famous”. Not successful, rich, popular, inventive, powerful, happy nor meaningful. “Famous”. This film, from 1982, shows that society’s obsession with fame and celebrity is not just a current malaise. Today’s film is an overlooked cinematic gem. A complete failure at the box office it has risen towards the top of many critics, directors and fans best movie lists. It currently receives a 7.8 rating by moviegoers on IMDB and is a great film that you might have missed!
